Late Shri Mahadba Mestri, founder of Kolhapur Auto Works, was a pioneering industrialist and the first to develop an indigenous Coal Gas Plant in India. He also designed the renowned Vishwas Oil Engine, a highly acclaimed model of its time. In recognition of his remarkable contributions to engineering, he was honored with the title “Yantra Maharshi.”
The legacy was carried forward by Late Shri Panditrao Shelke, whose unwavering commitment to business excellence remains commendable and continues to inspire the organization.
